WINNERS OF PALISADES SYMPHONY YOUNG ARTISTS AWARDS TO PERFORM AT ALDERSGATE SUNDAY MAY 19For Immediate Release Palisades Youth Concert WINNERS OF PALISADES SYMPHONY YOUNG ARTISTS AWARDS TO PERFORM AT ALDERSGATE SUNDAY MAY 19 Seventeen-tear old pianist Daniel Kim, winner of the Palisades Symphony Competition, and seventeen-year old violinist Alexis Hatch, winner of the Chamber Music Palisades scholarship, will be featured performers in concert at the Aldersgate Retreat on Sunday, May 19 at 4 pm. A trio of young scholarship winners from the Young Musician’s Foundation Chamber Music Program will complete the short program. Admission will be free for the program and post-concert reception. Pianist Kim. a student at Crossroads School, will perform the Prokofiev’s Third Piano Sonata. He is the founder of The Joyful Noise Project, a group of young, classically-trained musicians who perform at homeless shelters, retirement homes and hospitals. In 2011, Kim performed two concerts in Seoul, South Korea, with the Chung Trio. At the age of ten, violinist Alexis Hatch was a featured soloist with the Alicante Symphony in Spain. She studied at the Escuela Superior Reina Sofia in Madrid and performed regularly in the International Festival of Villanueva de los Infantes as a soloist and chamber musician. In the U.S., she was a prize winner in the 2011 Antelope Valley Young Artist competition. Making a guest appearance on the program will be Scholarship members of the YMF Chamber Music Trio including clarinetist Daniel Bernstein, violist Bethany Lai and pianist Marie Luff.
